DEC Update-

We will be riding out the remainder of the year in hibernation.

Our first show in 2009 will be a local one with BEOWULF. Beowulf are Venice, Ca. punk legends, we are looking foward to kicking off 2009 with them Friday Feb 6th. at Coconuts in Capo Bch.

More shows are in the works as well as a few releases. Stay tuned for updates. Cheers to Santa, stay lean, mean, and if you drive-drink safely, see you in 2009.

Zodiac Killer Records

Brief update on some new developments: We have been chosen by the Zodiac to do a 10" split next year with Denver's 29th St. Disciples. The Zodiac has also picked up the "Bones & Sand" E.P.for distribution. All good stuff, so check out the Zodiac at www.zodiackillerrecords.com for updates on the 10" and the E.P.

Also, the first pressing of the "Bones & Sand" E.P. is now out of print. Whatever is left the Zodiac has, so get the remaining yellow, numbered ones from him. OCTOBER

Our new record is out,the baseball playoffs are amongst us, the impending bailout is in limbo, currently California is over a 100 fucking degrees, I'm hungover, and we are sitting on our asses planning a DVD and a new record for 2009. So no gigs for awhile, to be honest it will be much needed break. I'm looking foward to getting inspired by the looming depression while working on some of the new stuff we have planned.....thats right, did I already mention a DVD!

East Coast Tour Update

We made it back in one piece from our brief East Coast Tour. It was a smashing success minus Baltimore. Superbuick rules, check em out if you haven't yet. We saw George land at the White House, skated FDR and a private wood bowl, ate a cheese steak, lost $ in Atlantic City, got stung by jelly fish on Long Island, boxed and slept in a boxing ring in Brooklyn, barged a mansion, got lost a thousand times and dodged a speeding ticket in PA.........we met a lot of cool people thank you to everyone who supported us through buying merch, you kick ass. Thanks to all the bands, Janel, Paul @ Motherbox, Dean @ the Trash Bar, Phil and again Superbuick!!! See you next year.

New EP "Bones & Sand" and the "Smash it Up" Compilation

We just got our hands on our new EP "Bones & Sand " from Basement Records. It will be released on Sept 16 but it be will available on our 5 day East Coast Tour next week. It is numbered and limited....as if you care!

Also, we just got word that Motherbox Records has released their "Smash It Up" compilation. There are two new Killing California tracks on that as well as tracks from bands around the world. Check out Motherbox Records and get the comp.

Fucked Up ???

Check this recently discovered review from Geekburger.com.....to be even mentioned in the same sentence with the mighty Fucked Up is pretty friggin awesome !

Goin' South was released way back in September, 2007, rendering it "old news" by now, but it's no less worth a listen after aging for six months. Comprised of gruff, driving punk rock and heaps of classic, rocked-out guitar riffs and leads, the record is catchy despite its lack of big vocal hooks and energetic without being overly aggressive. Vocally and occasionally musically, Goin' South reminds me of the elusive Fucked Up and their Hidden World effort, but Killing California is ultimately much more direct and straightforward in their approach.

I like the balance Killing California has found. I like even more that Goin' South is a punk rock record with just a tasteful amount of rock n' roll swagger -- a nice change of pace when, more often than not, it's the forced swagger that gets bands places. This is a fun little record

Bones & Sand......the new EP

Update & Distorted Mag(uk)

We are on a bit of a break at the moment working on some new material. We are going into the Basemnent Records studio in the coming weeks to record a few new tracks for an upcoming E.P. slated for an August release. Stay tuned as this will be a limited and numbered pressing.

THE TIDE IS RISING

Here it is our new blog page. Our website has vanished in cyberspace so we are joining the ranks of Fucked Up and such and have joined the blogger world. We'll keep this sucker updated more frequently than our Myspace(www.myspace.com/killingcalifornia) as it seems to be a bit easier to manage. Stay tuned for band updates, new pics, rants( we're going to share with you just how difficult it is being in this godammned band) and tons of randumbness bullshit.

Breaking news at the moment is that a new release is in the works. It will be brought to you by Basement Records. It will contain a few new tracks, a few previously released comp. tracks, a few re-recorded tracks, and a new cover song. This will be a super limited numbered release with each pressing containing new artwork. This is a super neat idea that was brought to us by head Basement honcho Chuck D, it should be good.

One other note: We are currently in the works on a short East Coast Tour with Philadelphia's Superbuick at the end of August. Thanks to Motherbox Records and Superbuick...stay tuned for dates and details.
